A 4 Bedroom Family house in a a residential estate in in the coastal town of Newcastle, Northern Ireland. The scheme was developed with ecologoical/self sustainable features . All slleping accommodation was placed on the ground floor to make use of the section and levels within the site so that living spaces opened onto the private garden area to the rear of the property. A glazed double height space was placed at the front, sout elevation to benefit from passive solar gain and to make use of the height of the traditional form and the double height living spaces within, air was circulated through openings from this space into living accommoadtion trhough convection. Passive solar water heating panels were also considered across the front elevation with additional heating provided from a solid fuel stove and flue featured in the main living space.
